Selling under-65 health insurance? Affordable Care Act exchanges are preparing for the 2023 Open Enrollment Period and plan year, and you can too!
Here’s what you can expect for Federally Facilitated Marketplace certification and state exchange trainings.
Marketplace Training Deadlines for 2022
Many ACA exchanges have already closed their new agent registrations and trainings for 2022 or will be closing them in the near future. The 2022 FFM certification closed to new agents on July 15.
Agents certified for 2022 will need to certify for 2023 to sell plans during the OEP and next year.
2023 FFM Certification & Exchange Registrations
Want to sell the newest plans coming onto the market? The 2023 FFM certification is now available through the CMS Enterprise Portal Marketplace Learning Management System (MLMS). HealthSherpa agents can also access HealthSherpa training via the CMS Enterprise Portal.
Federally Facilitated Marketplace (FFM) Certification is only required for agents servicing/selling to ACA clients in a federal exchange state. If you only sell ACA insurance in a state-based exchange, you’ll need to copmplete 2023 state-specific training. Some state exchanges plan to open agent registrations and trainings as early as mid-August. Check out the table below to see which exchanges are live now!
Regardless of which platform you use to complete your 2023 training, you must update your Marketplace Learning Management System (MLMS) profile on the CMS Enterprise Portal in addition to completing the 2023 training course to be considered ready-to-sell.
