Craig Ritter
Craig Ritter, President and Owner

Craig Ritter is the President and Owner of Ritter Insurance Marketing. His primary focuses are God, family, country, and business. An active philanthropist, Craig supports several charitable organizations, including his church, a Carepoint in Swaziland, The Partnership for Hope, and Health Partners Foundation.

In 1995, Craig married his wife, Heidi, who is also involved in the business. Together, they have three children: Quinn, Callie, and Cash. Craig is sometimes referred to as “The Lawn Doctor” because he delivered his daughter, Callie, on his front lawn. (He loves to tell the story, so ask him about it sometime!)

Craig graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Finance degree. He has been involved in insurance since 1992, and has been a licensed agent since 1997. Along the way, he obtained CPCU and AFSB designations. Although he hasn’t actively sold insurance since 2000, he has a passion for selling and helping agents assist their clients. Craig began blogging about Medicare in 2008. His blog is read by agents and insurance-industry insiders and has nearly one-million views.

Under Craig’s leadership, Ritter has grown from a small business with six employees to a company with almost 80 full-time employees and offices in Harrisburg, Atlanta, Syracuse, Philadelphia, and Omaha, plus more locations in the works. Craig’s desire is to create a positive working environment for his employees in order to build a culture of teamwork, accountability, and hard work, which will help Ritter’s agents and insurance company partners meet their business goals. Ritter will never lose sight of the fact that their success is the foundation of the company!

Dave Dietz
David Dietz, VP Marketing

David began his insurance career in 2000 as an independent agent specializing in the senior health insurance market. He joined Ritter Insurance Marketing in 2002 as a Senior Marketer when the company had only four other employees. Since then, the company has evolved, and so has David’s career. In 2011, he was promoted to VP of Marketing. Ritter’s staff now has over 70 employees (and counting), and David is excited about the company’s continuing growth and bright future.

David’s field-agent experience equipped him with a unique ability to understand the obstacles that independent agents encounter on a daily basis, which continues to help him excel in his role today. Even after all these years, David still enjoys going out and visiting policyholders. His favorite parts of his job include helping agents and consumers and ensuring Ritter is a fun place to work.

David and his wife, Sharon, got married in 1990 and they have one daughter, Ellayna. David’s a big Flyers fan, and Ellayna takes after him. When their favorite team isn’t playing, they watch the Eagles, Phillies, and Sixers (if they’re doing well). An experienced cook, David enjoys preparing meals for his family (and sometimes for his Ritter family, too).

Chuck Ducharm
Chuck Ducharm, VP Agent Services

Chuck graduated from Rutgers College in 1993 with a double major in Psychology and English. He was a member of Golden Key National Honor Society and Psi Chi National Honor Society upon graduation. He graduated from Widener University School of Law in 1996 where he earned a Juris Doctor.

Chuck worked in the mortgage industry for 10 years with PHH/Cendant Mortgage. He worked in a variety of areas, including Sales, Customer Service, Secondary Marketing/Analytics, and Project Management/Management.

His career with Ritter Insurance Marketing began in 2007 when he was hired to create and run Ritter’s Contact Center. Chuck brought big company experience to Ritter where he worked to standardize call quality, create and implement yearly reviews, develop various lead programs, and introduce a training program. In 2012, Chuck was promoted to Director of Agent Services. In this role, he oversaw Administrative Support, Service Support, Licensing, New Business, Supply Ordering, and the Call Center. He was promoted again in 2014 to Vice President of Agent Services.

Van Hang
Van Hang, Compliance Officer

Van graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Professional Accountancy. He began his insurance career with Highmark Inc. in 1988 and held several accounting/finance positions, including Accountant, Senior Audit Analyst, and Project Manager. He also led several large-scale process integration initiatives and government program compliance reviews. Van then started his compliance profession in 1995 by helping develop the Highmark Compliance Program. He went on to hold several management positions in the compliance area within Highmark. Prior to joining Ritter Insurance Marketing, Van was the Director of Integrity Office at Highmark. In that position, he was responsible for directing a professional staff to oversee the overall effectiveness and enforcement of the Highmark enterprise-wide Compliance and Ethics Program. Van’s responsibilities at Highmark included compliance-risk monitoring, code-of-conduct development and enforcement, conflict-of-interest management, OFAC compliance, and compliance policies and procedures reviews.

Van was hired as Ritter’s full-time Compliance Officer in 2013 to oversee the Ritter Compliance Program.

Cal Ritter
Calvin Ritter, Founder and Chairman

Calvin Ritter began his insurance career in 1972 as a Personal Producing Agent. As his business grew, he formed a General Agency called CJ Ritter and Associates. Cal semiretired from the insurance business after he was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy in 1990, and he eventually had a successful heart transplant.

A few years later, he came out of "retirement" to join the principals of URL Financial in forming a senior marketing insurance brokerage called URL Senior Care Division. In 1997, Cal was joined by his son, Craig Ritter. From 1997 to 2005, the agency grew from one part-time employee to five full-time employees. In 2005, Cal bought the interest of URL Financial and renamed the company Ritter Insurance Marketing. Ritter now has nearly 80 employees and a network of over 10,000 agents.

Since Cal began his insurance career over 40 years ago, he has been working with Medicare-aged clients to help secure their financial futures. As a Medicare beneficiary himself, he understands the Medicare system and is ready to help you find a plan that meets your needs. He lives in Harrisburg along with his wife, Carol, their four children, and seven grandchildren.

Scott Kowalski
Scott Kowalski, VP Operations

Scott Kowalski earned his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Pennsylvania State University in 1994. His first job out of college was working as a Regional Industrial Engineer for United Parcel Service. Scott's area of responsibility involved database programming, computer integration, operational planning, and analysis. Dealing with the business of a continuous package flow helped refine his organization skills, which are needed to succeed in a fast-paced operation.

Following UPS, Scott served as the Vice President Systems Analyst for Beta Research Corporation, a company that conducts market research for the publication industry. Scott launched the online division of the company and oversaw the development of custom software used in collecting and analyzing research data.

In 2005, Scott joined Ritter Insurance Marketing as an IT Consultant and helped with the launch of Medicare Part D. As the company grew, Scott came on board full time as the Vice President of Operations in 2007. Using his industrial-engineering skills, he focused on operational organization and developing efficiencies utilizing technology. Over the last seven years, Scott has managed the development of operating standards and launched several technology applications that are core to Ritter’s success.

Scott’s job function has been similar at all three companies he’s worked for, despite their varying business objectives. He continues to utilize data analysis and technology to drive efficiency and operation success.

Scott is an avid hockey fan. He enjoys hitting the ice to play a couple of times per week and watches just about every Penn State and Flyers game. His kids complain that the DVR is full of nothing but hockey.

Samantha Galeano
Samantha Galeano, HR Manager

Samantha Galeano is the HR Manager at Ritter Insurance Marketing. She has been a part of the Ritter family since May of 2012. Samantha handles all facets of recruitment, onboarding, benefits, compensation, payroll, and employee relations. She graduated from Messiah College in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management and is currently pursuing her MBA at Elizabethtown College. When Sam isn’t at work, she enjoys golfing, bowling, playing pool, taking long walks, and spending time with her husband and two boys, Gavin and Dominick.

Surprising fun facts: Sam once turned an unassisted triple play during a high-school softball game, caught a foul ball at a Phillies game, and played soccer in the old Spectrum during halftime at a Philadelphia KiXX game.

April Ford
April L. Ford, Director of Marketing

April joined Ritter in 2003 as a Marketing Assistant. In 2006, she was promoted to Senior Marketer. As Ritter has grown over the years, so have April’s responsibilities. In 2011, she was promoted to Marketing Supervisor. Her proven ability to teach, train, and advise an ever-growing Marketing Department led to her promotion to Marketing Manager in the summer of 2013, and to Director of Marketing less than a year later in the spring of 2014. In her present role, she oversees all marketing efforts in Ritter’s home office as well as its regional locations.

April’s extensive knowledge of the Medicare market and amazing ability to communicate with agents can be attributed to her continuing success at Ritter. Despite its tremendous growth, the company remains family oriented, caring, and compassionate, which are some of the reasons April loves being a part of it. She also enjoys helping agents make the best decisions for their clients.

April married her husband, Danny, in 2001 and they have two sons who keep her very busy. When she isn’t watching her oldest son, Daniel, play football or taking her youngest, T.J., to go swimming, April likes to experiment with flavors in the kitchen, watch the Steelers, and go camping with her family.
