Ritter Ranked 6th Best Place to Work in PA in 2020

Exciting news! Ritter was named the 6th best place to work among 30 other medium-sized companies at this year’s Best Places to Work in PA virtual event. Fellow Harrisburg-based company, WebFX, won the Large-Sized Company category.

Ritter has been named among the best places to work in Pennsylvania every year since 2014, making this the seventh consecutive year of recognition. In that time, Ritter has placed as high as 5th in the Medium category. Ritter has been ranked within the top 15 in five of those years, making the top 10 in three of them. This is also the second consecutive year Ritter is ranked within the top 10.

“We are greatly honored to be recognized as one of the ‘Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania’ once again,” CEO of Ritter Insurance Marketing, Craig Ritter said. “We strive to create a work environment where our team knows they are respected and valued. We’re pleased that our employees love working with us as much as we enjoy working with them.”

The Best Places to Work event honors companies that strive to achieve high rates of employee satisfaction through their company policies, practices, and benefits. Each year, companies can join the competition and invite their employees to complete an anonymous survey from Best Companies Group, an independent research firm, that gauges workplace happiness. Employers must also complete an in-depth questionnaire. At the end of the competition, Best Companies Group ranks the companies with a formula similar to the one Fortune uses for their “100 Best Companies to Work for” competition. Central Penn Business Journal then hosts an event for the companies named to the Best Places to Work in PA list where they reveal their rankings.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Best Places to Work in PA event was held virtually on December 3, with 100 of Pennsylvania’s top companies being honored.

“Pennsylvania’s workforce has faced challenges like no other year in living memory. The companies we honor tonight are helping maintain Pennsylvania’s economic vitality by not only facing these obstacles, but surmounting them,” said Ryan C. Unger, President & CEO of Team Pennsylvania of the event. “We are grateful for their leadership and congratulate them.”

To be eligible for the Best Places to Work in PA, a company must fit the following criteria:

  • Be a publicly or privately held business
  • Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business, or government entity
  • Have a facility in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Have a minimum of 15 full-time or part-time employees working in Pennsylvania
