NABIP 2024 Medicare Certification

NABIP is once again offering a Medicare certification training option for agents! The training for agents selling 2024 Medicare Advantage and Part D products opened June 21, 2023.

The NABIP 2024 Medicare certification is an alternative to AHIP’s Medicare certification. We’ll compare the two below so you can decide which training is the right one for you.

What Is NABIP?

NABIP, or the National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals, is the professional organization that represents “those who serve the health insurance needs of employers and individuals seeking health insurance coverage.” Formerly, NABIP was known as NAHU, or the National Association of Health Underwriters.

As invested representatives for insurance industry professionals, they’re committed to offering quality training and professional development resources. As part of this commitment, they are continuing to offer their Medicare certification.

2024 NABIP Medicare Certification

Since the 2021 plan year, NABIP has offered the Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Compliance Requirements for agents looking for another certification option. Agents do not have to be a member of NABIP to take the training and certification test, but members of the organization are able to access additional resources.

NABIP 2024 Medicare, Medicare Advantage, and Compliance Requirements certification training opened June 21. Agents can complete this training through the NABIP Online Learning Institute for $100.

Currently, [#] carriers are accepting NABIP Medicare certification for 2024.

Reminders

NABIP’s training meets the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ requirements, but it’s important to note that not every carrier accepts this certification. They have a catalog of carriers that have accepted their Medicare certification so you can be sure of your carriers’ stances. We recommend that you upload the certification of completion to all contracted carriers.

The training course typically counts for eight continuing education (CE) credits in all 50 states.

Why Choose NABIP vs. AHIP Certification?

Although NABIP’s training is not as widely accepted by carriers, it could be more affordable. It also offers CE credits at no additional cost and is easily accessible through their online platform. Read our NABIP Medicare certification FAQ post to decide if this is the right certification for you.
